Alum

Alum is a metallic mineral ore, a double sulfate of a trivalent metal, aluminum, and a univalent metal, such as potassium or sodium. It serves as a clarifying or hardening agent. Prolonged exposure to its fumes may cause alum mineral sickness, which was a frequent condition among alum miners like Haldo. Alum is also utilized in the production of Mandalorian armor, but the superior resilience of beskar iron remains the material of choice for Mandalorian armor smiths.

In a modded assembler set to Disassembly Mode, alum can be transformed into Cobalt. It’s a component in the crafting of Light-Weight Durasteel, Reactor Components, Thruster Components, and General Construction Components.
